Step Back in Time

Nov. 9, 1984

MILFORD _ Students from the Otsego Area School of Practical Nursing scored the highest in New York State on the State Board exams.

The school was recently notified that the 23 students who took the test for the first time averaged a score of 526.5, the highest in the state. The test results are reported as a standard score that can range from 200 to 800.

One student, Sylvia Lobdell of South New Berlin, achieved a perfect 800, and five others scored in the 700s. The mean score for all New York candidates who took the test was 468.5 and the national mean was 532.

Instructors for these students included Elsie Haus of Mt. Vision, Helen Luoma of Portlandville and Deborah O'Brien of Cooperstown.

Ten industrious dramatists are preparing for their Dec. 3 and 4 presentation of Norma Krasna's "Dear Ruth."

Student cast members are Susan Worley as Miriam Wilkins; David Brant as Judge Harry Wilkins; Ursula Buckow as Mrs. Wilkins; Carole Weir, Dora Carl Mondillo, Albert Kimmer; Mary Anne Long, Martha Seawright; Mike Duffy, Chuck Vincent; Anne Fitzelle, Ruth Wilkins; and Caryl Smith, Bill Seawright.

Robert Weigle will direct the production assisted by Judith Hendricks, student director.''
