Donations of mittens, hats, socks and slippers are needed to fill the tree boughs of the Church Women United's "Community Mitten Tree," which will be in the NBT Bank of Oxford until Friday, Dec. 4.
Donations of items that have been purchased or knitted by hand will be appreciated, organizers said.
Although new toys and books may also be donated and placed under the tree, the group requests that no scarves be donated.
The Church Women United will use items from the tree to fill community Christmas baskets for members of the community who are in-need.
Items not used for the baskets will be donated to the Oxford Primary School and to Oxford Head Start.
The NBT Bank is at 10 North Canal St. in Oxford.
The Church Women United of Oxford are representatives from four Oxford churches: St. Joseph's, St. Paul's, United Methodist and the United Church of Oxford.
