Sixty men and women participated in the 1984 annual senior citizens golf tournament and buffet at the Cee Jay golf course, West Laurens, Sept. 13. Hosts for the event were Clair and Ruth Jacobson.
Prizes were presented to: Daisy Steigelman and Lowell (Doc) Brown, oldest golfers; Torrey Robinson, Jane Valentine and Paul George, closest to the pin; Art Gell and Peg Geertgens, least putts; Everett Sargent and Helen Lampron, most lost balls; Orrin Hanford and Marion Lawhead, most putts; Glen Geertgens and Leo Sdrewski, tie for low score; Peg Geertgens, low score; Dan Clune and Virginia Sherwood, high score; Fred Whitney and Marie Wightman, mystery hold. Prizes were contributed by merchants and friends.

Coin collectors are going to organize a club in Oneonta. A call for a meeting at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, in Oneonta Hotel has been issued by Donald M. Charles, an enthusiastic numismatist as well as proprietor of the hotel.
Mr. Charles said he has obtained the names of 40 coin collectors in and near Oneonta, and that there are more. He said a branch of the national organization is to be organized.
