The Greater Stamford Area Trust recently announced that Headwaters Trails has a new logo.
"This project has been in development for many years and has been a labor of love for the GSAT board to see it come to fruition," said GSAT Secretary Patricia Heath in a media release.
Scott Jensen of Jensen Creative in Hobart worked with the board of directors over the course of several months to "brand" a trail system that has been running through and around the mountains for years. "The board has a very ambitious and exciting vision for this trail system," Jensen said in the release. "The logo was designed to express some sense of the adventures this regional attraction will offer."
The Headwaters Trails system runs through four towns and one village in two counties _ and on three mountains _ Mount Utsayantha, Churchill Mountain and Bald Mountain. The trails in the Bald Mountain Recreation Area are about 30 miles long, according to the release. A variety of trail experiences are available to the public, making these an all-season attraction: hiking, mountain biking, geo-caching, horseback riding, birding, photography, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are all allowed.
To receive more information about the trails, e-mail GSAT board member Velga Kundzins-Tan at vkundzins@westerncatskills.org.
