COOPERSTOWN _ The restored scales of justice were replaced atop the tower of the Otsego County Courthouse in Cooperstown Tuesday by Bill Gow and Ray Hallstead of Gow and Sons contractor.
The newly decorated county courthouse will be dedicated Aug. 17 in ceremonies organized by the county Bar Association.
Work on the 103-year-old structure began about a year ago and crews are putting the finishing touches to the project now.

HARTWICK _ Plans are complete for the anniversary observance of Hartwick Baptist Church, the 105th anniversary of the building of the present edifice and the 164th anniversary of the organization of the church.
The pastor, the Rev. Walter A. Miller, will conduct the service assisted by the Rev. Albert Dickensen, a retired Presbyterian minister, who is a native son of Hartwick.
The anniversary sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Ivan M. Cash of Syracuse, director of Town and Country Work of the New York State Baptist Missionary Convention.
Guest soloists will be Marvin Maxson, West Edmeston, and Richard Pollak, Hartwick. Mrs. J. J. Byard is organist, Miss Lulu Byard, pianist, and Mrs. Joseph Tedesco is director of music.
