CENTRAL BRIDGE _ William J. Courlis of Central Bridge was named president of the Tri-County Firemen's Association (serving Schoharie, Otsego and Delaware counties) in a recent annual meeting in Oneonta.
Other newly elected offices include the following: Walter Raeder of Grand Gorge, Jack Jones of Unadilla, Edward Scribner of Schoharie and Lloyd Larson of Westford.

WALTON _ At the recent New York State Future Farmers of America judging tour conducted in this area, the Walton chapter placed fifth out of 66 competing schools. They were also the top team from this area in the contest.
David Jackson, who is vice president of the Walton FFA chapter, placed 13th in the state out of 194 contestants.
Other members of the Walton team included Robert Hulbert, Ryan Kilmer, and alternate, Ronald Hulbert. Coach of the team is John C. Elderkin, local agriculture instructor, and FFA adviser.
Future competitions include the Delaware County Fair next week and the New York State Fair. Roger Brainard of the Walton chapter has also been chosen to represent the county at the State Fair, as one of the two poultry contestants from the county.
