25 YEARS AGO

March 12, 1985

OTEGO _ The board of trustees of Harris Memorial Library elected new officers in January. They are: Ron Embling, president; George Akramoff, vice president; Elma Mitchell, secretary; and Helen Groves, treasurer.

Mary Nero reported that last year 143 new borrowers began using the library, many of them young people. The library’s film programs and story hours have been well attended and the Harris House has been used regularly for a variety of organizations.

50 YEARS AGO

March 12, 1960

Otsego County Motors, 56 Oneida St., has a franchise to sell the Comet when Ford Motor Company’s new car is offered to the public beginning March 17, Moses Lane Jr., Buffalo district sales manager for Lincoln-Mercury Division, announced yesterday.

Mr. Lane said the car will have a 114- inch wheelbase for the best combination of maneuverability and riding comfort and be powered by an economical engine of the most modern design.

Milton Rubenfeld of Otsego County Motors reported that his dealership operations are being realigned to prepare for the anticipated high volume of Comet sales.
