DELHI _ Plans have been completed for the Delhi
Village Improvement Society’s annual Bakeless
Bake Sale, to be conducted March 15 through 21.
The 50-year-old Federal Women’s Club originated
the idea of the Bakeless Bake Sale three years ago
when the organization gave up its annual sale to
help a new bakery get started in Delhi.
The idea caught fire and has been so well received
by the community that many streets have initiated
coffes and teas, while others canvas each resident of
the blocks assigned to them.
The proceeds of last year’s project provided sufficient
funds to furnish a television set for the Delhi
Hospital. Funds from this year’s project will be used
for the society’s home and school committee’s activities
for plants to beautify the village this summer
and to send Safety Patrol Boys on their annual trip
to Washington, D.C.
