GENEALOGY WORKSHOPS
Librarian Sarah Livingston
will offer a series of genealogy
programs during March.
The sessions are listed below,
and you can sign up for as
many programs as you like.
One-on-One Genealogy
Sign up for individual
genealogy workshop sessions
March 22 through 26 at the
library. Using book and Internet
resources, Livingston
will work with you individually
to help you with your
genealogical research. There
is no charge for individual
sessions, but registration is required.
Registration deadline is Friday, March
19, and may be done in person or by
calling 432-1980.
Beginning Genealogy
If you are new to genealogy and have
always wanted to research your family
but didn’t know where to start, this
workshop is for you. At “Beginning
Genealogy,” you will learn about where
to begin your research and the vast
network of print resources available
to you. Forms, charts, types of records,
family history centers, and local, state
and federal resources will all be covered.
This workshop will be from 10:30
to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23. A fee of
$5 for materials is payable at the time
of the workshop.
Immigration and Naturalization Records
Learn where to find immigration
and naturalization records during this
workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
March 24. Both online and print
resources will be featured. There is a
fee of $10, payable at the time of the
workshop. Registration is required and
may be done in person or by calling
432-1980.
Online Beginning Genealogy
“Beginning Genealogy: Internet
and Ancestry.com” will
be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday,
March 25.
This workshop will be an
introduction to available
resources such as Mormon
records, USGenWeb, Ellis
Island, Castle Garden, email
lists and Ancestry.com,
Library Edition. Registration
is required, and there is a $5
materials fee, payable at the
time of the workshop. To register,
sign up in person or call
the library at 432-1980.
Genealogy Research
For those who are compiling their
family genealogies, take advantage of
our Genealogy Research Time from
10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 27.
Computers will be available for genealogists
to use Ancestry.com and other
genealogy websites in the New York
State Room. Livingston will be available
to offer assistance. There is no
charge for this workshop. Registration
is preferred, but not required.
Computers for these workshops are
provided by the Four County Library
System Traveling Classroom.

Library Organic Gardening program
scheduled for Monday has been canceled.
