The Fly Creek community will have its community yard sales Saturday, while the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard host its 16th annual Antique Engine Show on Saturday and Sunday.
Area single-cylinder gas engine owners will display their antiques from the early 1900's. New to the show this year is an early 1900's E.R. Thomas Experimental Auto from the collection of Richard Henza of Cortland. Henza's car and memorabilia display have won multiple best-in-show awards at Antique Automobile Club of America events throughout the Northeast, presenters said.
The experimental car with its 1900 C.N. Cady gas engine can be viewed Saturday only, but other engines will be on display the entire weekend.
On Saturday, the mill will hold an inventory reduction tent sale in conjunction with the Fly Creek Community Days area-wide lawn sales.
In addition, chef Tom Eriksen will demonstrate making Rothschild's Buffalo Bleu Cheese Dip, Blackberry Honey Mustard Pretzel Dip, Asian Sesame Grill Sauce and Artichoke Dip.
The Fly Creek Area Historical Society will sponsor the Fly Creek community yard sale on Saturday.
There will be a breakfast at the fire hall starting at 7:30 a.m. Lunch will be available at 11 a.m. at the FCAHS building on Cemetery Road. There will be a bake sale at the Fly Creek Methodist Church. Yard sales are planned in and around Fly Creek. Those participanting will have orange balloons that will show the location of sales. Free maps will be available at several area businesses and at each sale site.
The Fire Company will also offer a pancake breakfast. Visitors for all events are encouraged to register at the Grange Hall, where there will be maps of the participating sale locations.
