Ioxus Inc., manufacturer of ultracapacitors in Oneonta, has hired Nick Cataldo, who has extensive experience increasing revenue for cleantech companies, a media release said.
As senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Cataldo will be responsible for expanding the adoption of Ioxus ultracapacitors in markets worldwide.
"Nick Cataldo brings long-term customer relationships, technical expertise and the ability to manage teams and drive sales for Ioxus," said Mark McGough, chief executive officer of Ioxus, said in a statement. "His leadership will be critical in further strengthening Ioxus' global presence."
Ioxus manufactures ultracapacitors for transportation, alternative energy, medical, industrial and consumer product markets.
For more than 20 years, Cataldo has led sales and marketing teams at semiconductor and cleantech companies.
He was a sales and marketing executive at NEC Electronics, Semtech, International Rectifier and Boston-Power, the release said.
Most recently, Cataldo was vice president of sales and marketing at Leyden Energy, a maker of lithium-ion-based energy storage solutions.
"Throughout my career, I have focused on building sales and marketing teams that thoroughly understand customer needs," Cataldo said. "I look forward to leveraging that experience at Ioxus, where my goal is to create long-term partnerships and grow the company's customer base in the global market for cost-effective, supercapacitor technology."
Cataldo earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
