Breakthrough! Consulting & Coaching has grown from a part-time to a full-time business with offices in the Eaton Center at 19 Eaton Ave. in the city of Norwich, owner and operator Jane A. Coddington said.
Breakthrough! offers management consultation and executive coaching services based in "positive psychology" to maximize productivity, profitability and potential, Coddington said in a media release.
Positive psychology is the scientific study of what enables individuals and communities to thrive, said Coddington, who has a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology and more than 25 years' experience as a nonprofit executive.
Breakthrough! programs also include team development, performance improvement and employee retention and strategic planning. Coddington said she works with organizations and individuals regionally and throughout upstate New York.
The launch of Breakthrough! was funded in part by the Chenango County Microenterprise Grant Program, which is administered by the Development Chenango Corp.
Coddington said she opened and ran her business part time from August 2004 until July 2011, when it became full time. She worked from July to October this year and opened the office in Eaton Center this fall.
Coddington, a sole proprietor, said she will add hire one or two employees in the next year.

NBT warns about online fraud
NBT Bank is warning consumers about a trick that's not so new _ "phishing" scams delivered through computer email.
The bank hasn't received reports of problems but decided the holiday and its shopping season a good time to issue a cautionary reminder, Florence Doller, NBT spokeswoman, recently.
In phishing, criminals send emails to millions of people hoping that a few will give away valuable personal information, a media release from the Norwich-based bank said.
NBT Bank offered prevention tips, including never sharing personal or financial information, such as account numbers and passwords; check credit card and bank account statements and look for unauthorized transactions, and report discrepancies immediately; and if a response was made to a suspicious email, contact the bank immediately.
The FBI website said unsolicited e mail offers or spam may be forwarded to the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov.
