A suspect in shootings in Herkimer and Mohawk this morning that killed four and injured at least two is still at large, according to several news media outlets.
Richfield Springs Central School was on lockdown in response to the threat as of 10:45 a.m. today, as are schools in the Herkimer area, including Herkimer County Community College.
Richfield Springs is about 13 miles south of Herkimer.
The Utica Observer-Dispatch reporter that police are searching for Kurt Myers of Mohawk, a 50- to 60-year-old slender white male, about 5-foot-11, with white hair and a white beard, last seen wearing a flannel shirt.
