COMMENTING ON STORIES:

Welcome to our story comments feature. We welcome your thoughts and your opinions, including the unpopular ones. We only ask that you keep your conversations clean, civil and on the topic of the story you are commenting on.

Coinciding with our websites redesign, we launched our new story comments feature through Disqus.

Disqus gives users the ability to log into our story comments feature so that they may be able to track their conversations, receive emails when their comments get a reply or to even have your comments update onto your Facebook or Twitter accounts.

For the time being, our story comments feature will continue to have the ability to post comments anonymously. We reserve the right to require registration in the future using your name and verified email address.

Not all comments are deemed printable. Some are disqualified at the newspaper’s discretion for a number of different reasons. Please follow our Online Rules of Conduct at all times.

RULES OF CONDUCT:

We reserve the right to remove comments that are unacceptable, to wit:

1. False and inacurate statements.
2. Personal attacks. Explicit name-calling.
3. Harassing, harmful, vulgar, obscene and defamatory language.
4. Threatening statements or statements that suggest violence.
5. Hate speech of any kind.
6. Intolerant comments on religion, race, age, gender, sexual preference or disabilities.
7. Accusations of criminal activity.
8. Content that is harmful to children and minors in any way.
9. References to any type of sexual activity and other private matters.
10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

WE ENCOURAGE REASONABLE AND COURTEOUS COMMENTS THAT:

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.
4. Stay within the boundaries of these rules.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND OR TERMINATE ACCESS FOR:

1. Violating any of these Online Rules of Conduct.
2. Deliberately disrupting discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or spam.

Giglio - Stilson

Nicole Giglio and Timothy Stilson of Oneonta announce the birth of a daughter, Kalee Elizabeth Stilson, born July 12 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Kalee weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Sue and Tim Perry of Laurens and David Giglio of Oneonta. Paternal grandparents are David Stilson of Laurens and Sue Boman of Otego.

Hopper

Mark and Audrey Hopper of Indianapolis, Ind., announce the birth of a son, Wade Anthony, born July 5 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at 1:34 a.m.

Wade Anthony weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Paternal grandparents are Mark and Bernice Hopper of Wells Bridge and Bonnie and Joe Lucas of Indianapolis.

Maternal grandparents are Linda and Steve Frazer of Indianapolis and Larry Schiedeman of LaCrosse, Kan.

VanBenschoten

Kate and John VanBenschoten of Margaretville announce the birth of a daughter, LilliAnn Heley Carr VanBenschoten born July 10 at Rhinebeck Birthing Center.

LilliAnn weighed 7 pounds, 15.4 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Joan Lawrence-Bauer of Big Indian and JR Lawrence of Margaretville.

Paternal grandparents are Eric and Sally VanBenschoten of Andes.

Maternal great-grandparents are Shirley, and the late Dick Lawrence of Sidney and Walt and Donna Heley of Margaretville.

Paternal great-grandparents are Mary and the late John Eckert of DeLancey and the late Bill and Frieda VanBenschoten of Andes.

Leech

Amy and James Leech of Sidney announce the birth of a daughter, Emilee Lynn Leech, born July 29 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

Emilee weighed 7 pounds, 5.5 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Al and June Adams of Oneonta. Paternal grandparents are George and Carol Leech of Otego.

Kenyon

Kimberly A. and Joshua F. Kenyon of Sidney announce the birth of a son, Liam Joshua Kenyon, born Sept. 9, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

Liam weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

Pelletier

Amanda (Rose) and Danny Pelletier of Oneonta announce the birth of a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Ada Pelletier, born Sept. 7 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Margaret weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Peggy is named after her great-grandmothers, Margaret MacGregor of Hartwick and Deanna Margaret Rose of Stony Point.
