Randy Houser headlines country night at theater

Country singer-songwriter Randy Houser will take the stage at Oneonta Theater, 47 Chestnut St. in Oneonta, at 9 p.m. Saturday, along with special guests Lathan Moore and Rick Monroe.

Houser was named Country Aircheck's No. 1 New Country Artist in 2009 in terms of airplay, and he was been nominated for American Country Music, Country Music Television and Academy of Country Music awards.

He has written hits for artists including Trace Adkins and Justin Moore, and sang a hit of his own with "Boots On" from his 2009 debut album "Anything Goes." The track reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album hit the Top 20 on the country album charts.

He performed the title song from "Anything Goes" on "The Late Show with David Letterman."

Moore has recorded two top 40 singles in the last three years -- "Beautiful Girl" and "Love in Your Life." He has opened for George Strait and others.

Monroe has opened for Charlie Daniels, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Patty Loveless, Little Texas and many others.

According to a media release, he combines alternative contemporary and classic country, Southern roots rock and Texas swing. He performed an average of 100 dates a year for the last two years and toured Europe for the last three years.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show.
