The Catskill Choral Society will present its winter concert two times in Oneonta — at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First United Methodist Church on Chestnut Street and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at St. Mary’s Church on Walnut Street.
The group is led by musical director Timothy Newton and will be joined by the Catskill Chamber Orchestra and local soloist Johana Arnold.
The concert, “Enchanted Mysteries of the Human Voice,” will include pieces by Vivaldi and re-harmonized arrangements of Christmas carols.
Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students in advance, and $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students at the door.

Empire House to host DJ, open mic
The Empire House, at 136 Marion Ave. in Gilbertsville, will host two events this weekend. Starting at 9 p.m. today, DJ Donna will play dance and other music.
This will be followed at 7 p.m. Saturday with an open mic night hosted by Ken Held and John Edick. A media release suggests bringing instruments, singing voice or jokes to perform during the night.

Art sale opens
today at EOH
The Earlville Opera House will open its 15th annual holiday arts sale at 10 a.m. today. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturdays, as well as from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays through Saturday, Dec. 22.
Chosen by a jury panel to participate in the sale, more than 65 central New York artists will offer paintings and fine art photographs, hand-blown glass and pottery, quilts handmade clothing and bags, baskets, wood items, stained glass, scarves, candles, jewelry, cards and more.
