Jazz quartet Compass to perform at Smithy Pioneer

The Smithy Pioneer will present a night of jazz by the quartet Compass at 7 p.m. Monday.

The show will include a blend of original compositions and covers of songs by Miles Davis, Chick Corea, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins and others.

As part of the concert, the group will teach a jazz clinic for youths at 3 p.m. Monday. Participants are encourged by presenters to bring their instruments.

Tickets for the concert are $12 for adults, $8 for children 12 and younger.
