The Earlville Opera House will open a regional quilt show Saturday in the West Gallery of 18 E. Main St. in Earlville.
Concurrently in the East Gallery will be "Contemporary Art Quilts." Both shows run through July 28 and will have an opening July 21 to coincide with the Earlville Community Days Celebration.

Guitarists to star at Gallery on Sat.
The Gallery, at 128 Main St. in Stamford, will present a night of jazz, soul, blues, roots and rhythm with guitarists Johnny Asia and Stew Cutler.

Community band to play at park
The Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series continues its eighth season with the Cooperstown Community Band at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The group, celebrating its 151st year, will perform patriotic and show tunes, marches, traditional band music and more.
The concert is in Lakefront Park, entered from Lake Street in Cooperstown. Next up in the series are the Barefoot Boys at 7 p.m. July 17. For more details, call 547-5256.
Open Eye seeks cast for play readings
The Open Eye Theater seeks actors to fill 30 roles for its "Summer Shortcuts II" and rehearsed reading series. Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m. today and July 13, as well as at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at 960 Main St. in Margaretville.
There will be about 12 short plays and new full-length plays read at performances starting Aug. 9.
A media release said all ages and experience levels are encouraged to audition, and scripts will be provided. To schedule a tryout, call (845) 586-1660.
The theater group also will present the second "A Midsummer Night's Dinner" at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club, 576 W. Hubbell Hill Road in Margaretville.
The night will include a recreation of Shakespeare's England, with Anne Saxon Hersh playing Queen Elizabeth I, strolling musicians and other historical figures.
