The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival will close its season with the Juilliard String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. today at the Farmers’ Museum, at 5775 State Route 80 in Cooperstown.
The all-Beethoven program will feature the “String Quartet in C sharp minor, Op. 131” and the “Quartet in A minor, Op. 132.”
The Grammy-winning quartet is kicking off its 2012-13 season at the festival, which will take the group throughout the U.S. and abroad, including Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Chicago’s Ravinia Festival and Taiwan’s National Concert Hall. With more than 100 releases to its credit, the JSQ is one of the most widely recorded string quartets of our time. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students ages 6 to 18.
