The Roxbury Arts Group will open its "Food Glorious Food: Four Films About Food" with the Mexican movie "Like Water for Chocolate" at 7 p.m. Saturday. The 1992 film will include English subtitles. The screening will be at the Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mountain Road in Roxbury.
Each film viewing will be followed by food related to the each film, such as Mexican items for "Like Water for Chocolate."
These tastings will be joined by panel discussions with actress, director and farmer Dorothy Lyman.
Other films and food include:
"¢ Disney's 2007 animated film, "Ratatouille," at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, will feature a French-themed "box of treats." There will be no panel discussion with this showing.
"¢ The 2001 Johnny Depp movie, "Chocolat," at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10, will include chocolates.
"¢ "Big Night," the 1996 film with Stanley Tucci and Isabella Rossellini, will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31. This screening will be preceded by a family-style Italian fundraising dinner at Cassie's Cafe in Roxbury.
Lyman has appeared in television shows including "Reba," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "CSI: Miami" and various daytime dramas in the 1970s and '80s.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $17 for seniors for the entire series. Individual films are $7 for adults and $5 seniors. The fundraising dinner is $25, with reservations required.
