Kate Lyn Reiter, creator of "Humor in the Midst" comedy workshops will present course from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Saturday, Feb 11, at 76 Main St. in Stamford.
The workshops will end with a performance at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 by "The Late Shift" comedy troupe.
According to a media release, the workshop is designed for noncomedians and aims to teach students how to view themselves through a different lens with an infusion of humor.
Reiter is an alumna of the Yale School of Drama and teaches a variety of acting, directing, playwriting and theater courses. She has appeared on Comedy Central, Fox Network and at New York City comedy clubs doing stand-up acts.
Fred Holzapfel, who took one of Reiter's workshops previously, will be joined by Julie McCormick, Peggy Robinson and Dan Hoffman to perform as "The Late Shift."
Workshop students will be encouraged to join the troupe on stage to show the audience what they have learned, the release said.
Students can attend both workshops for $50 or one for $30. Workshop attendees will be admitted free to "The Late Shift" show. Tickets for others are $10. Call 326-7908. for more info.
