Area Entertainment Roundup: Auditions set for choral society

The Catskill Choral Society will hold auditions for new singers Thursday and Feb. 16 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 12 Ford Ave in Oneonta.

The spring concert will be May 11 and 12, featuring Handel's "Messiah." The group is directed by G. Roberts Kolb.

Rehearsals are 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays at the church.

Same Blood Folk to play Autumn Cafe

The Autumn Cafe on Main Street in Oneonta will host Same Blood Folk from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.

The group blends elements of Americana with traditional and rock music in its original songs.

The band also performs covers of legendary tunes with its own spin.

There will be a $3 cover charge.

Fenimore to host 'Big Fish' tonight

The Fenimore Art Museum will host Tim Burton's "Big Fish," the next movie in the Cabin Fever Series, at 7 p.m. today.

The museum, at 5798 State Highway 80 in Cooperstown also will host "Cry, the Beloved Country" on Feb. 17. The Baseball Hall of Fame, another venue for the series at 25 Main St., will screen the animated film "The Princess and the Frog" on Feb. 10. All shows are at 7 p.m., and are free and open to public.

'Twelve Angry Men' to be staged

The Theater Project of Schoharie County will present the court drama "Twelve Angry Men" at Golding Middle School, at 193 Golding Drive in Cobleskill. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday, as well as at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $10 general admission and $7 for seniors and students. For more details, go to www.theaterproject.org.

Theater group to present 'God'

The Cardboard Alley Players of Hartwick College will present "God," by Woody Allen at 8 p.m. today, Feb. 16 and 17 in the Lab Theater, which is in the basement of the former Bresee's building on Main Street in Oneonta.

Admission is free, with viewer discretion advised because of language, gestures and partial nudity.
