Staff Report
Center Street Elementary School Principal John Cook, who has been in his current role since 1983, will be retiring in August, he said Thursday.
The board is expected to approve the action at its Jan. 13 board of education meeting, and it will be effective on Aug. 27, he said.
Oneonta City School District Superintendent Michael Shea said Cook informed him of his intentions several weeks ago.
“It’s an absolute pleasure working with him,” Shea said. “He will be missed.”
