William and Molly Swain of Oneonta celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary over Labor Day Weekend at the family camp on Mooselookmeguntic Lake in the Rangeley Lakes district in Maine.
Molly Ann Myrus and William A. Swain III of Asheville, N.C., were married Sept. 5, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church in Oneonta. Molly's parents, Marjorie and Budd Myrus, were married on the same date in 1931.
The couple were joined for their anniversary by their sons, daughters-in-law, and two of six grandchildren. William A. Swain IV and Margaret traveled from Chicago, John David from Los Angeles, and Peter and Claudia and their sons Bradley and Daniel from Wakefield, R.I.
Peter and Claudia celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Sept. 5, as well.
Due to weather, jobs and college openings, the family came and went over the course of the weekend.
